The Friends of WWT Martin Mere were founded in 1979 to further the objects, interests and membership of The Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, especially the centre at Martin Mere. We organise and support various fund raising and social events. The Friends have raised funds for the Martin Mere centre in many ways. We hold regular illustrated talks by speakers such as John Wilson, Gordon Yates, Patrick Wisniewski and Mike McKavett. 
Topics covered include birds, wildlife, flora and fauna both from this country
and exotic overseas locations.
Some Friends help out at the centre by doing a variety of volunteer activities both indoors and out. The annual membership fee is just £2.50 to cover printing and postage costs. |
